Our Core Support Services

Children’s Bereavement Support

Tailored peer-support for children and teens grieving a suicide loss. Led by qualified bereavement specialists using age-appropriate therapy and resources—available individually or in small groups.

Gwent Bereavement Service

Thanks to renewed funding from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, we continue to provide free, immediate support for residents aged 26+ affected by suicide in Gwent.

  • Monthly peer support groups

Group Support

Community-focused sessions for sharing experiences and building resilience:

  • Weekly peer groups for suicide-related bereavement

  • Facilitated sessions for men’s, women’s, or youth groups

  • Drop-in and online support options with flexible access

Suicide-Related Bereavement (Postvention)

Ongoing care for all affected—regardless of time since the event. Services include:

  • Immediate outreach

  • One-to-one counselling

  • Monthly bereavement groups

This two hour session covers the following key areas:

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) participants must attend both days.

Recognised by the World Health Organisation, this two-day, in-person workshop focuses on suicide first aid, offering expert facilitation from two experienced and supportive trainers in a safe learning environment.

Participants will develop crucial skills, including recognising suicidal ideation, offering interventions, creating safety plans, and connecting individuals to support. The interactive learning approach incorporates audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations.

A key component of the workshop is attitudinal reflection, exploring how personal and community attitudes impact the seeking and providing of help. Ultimately, the program is designed to boost confidence, increasing willingness, confidence, and ability to offer support.
